Job summary

EY is seeking a WAF Operations Solution Engineer to implement and manage Web Application Firewalls, protecting client applications from cyber threats. You will monitor security events, analyze incidents, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen security measures.

You will configure WAF solutions (Cloudflare, Imperva), automate deployments with Terraform, and mentor junior engineers while supporting audits and improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, cybersecurity or related field preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in web application security operations focusing on WAF management.
• Hands-on experience with WAFsolutions such as Cloudflare and Imperva is required.
• Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure automation is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of web application protocols, security principles, and ITIL processes.

Responsibilities

• Configure, manage, and optimize WAF solutions to protect web applications.
• Provide ongoing operational coverage of web application firewalls and ensure performance.
• Monitor traffic and security events to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
• Analyze security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement remediation.
• Collaborate with incident response teams to investigate and respond promptly.
• Develop and maintain WAF policies and documentation to meet best practices.
• Support security audits and assessments and ensure policy compliance.
• Stay current with threats and technologies to strengthen security posture.
• Utilize Cloudflare and Imperva for implementation and management; use Terraform for IaC.
• Mentor junior engineers on WAF management and incident response processes.
