Job summary

EY is seeking a WAF Operations Solution Engineer to configure and maintain web application firewalls, monitor traffic, analyze security events, and respond to incidents for client applications. You will work with Cloudflare and Imperva, leverage Terraform for IaC, and collaborate with incident response and security teams to strengthen overall application security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, cybersecurity, or related field preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in web application security operations, with focus on WAF management.
• Hands-on experience with WAF solutions such as Cloudflare and Imperva.
• Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure automation preferred.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and ticketing systems for incident management.
• Certs such as CISSP or Security+ are a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Configure and optimize WAF solutions to establish effective security controls for web applications.
• Provide ongoing operational coverage of web application firewalls, ensuring they function correctly.
• Monitor application traffic and security events to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
• Analyze security incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and drive remediation.
• Collaborate with incident response teams to investigate and respond to security incidents.
• Develop and maintain WAF policies, rules, and documentation to align with best practices.
• Support security audits and assessments and promote adherence to security standards.
• Stay current with emerging threats and technologies to enhance security posture.
• Leverage WAF solutions (Cloudflare, Imperva) and Terraform IaC for deployment and management.
