Job summary

Horizon3.ai is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Web Application Firewall validation, effectiveness, and tuning team within the NodeZero platform. You will guide a diverse group of backend engineers and security practitioners, turning security learnings into practical product capabilities while scaling operations across multi-tenant environments.

You'll partner with a Staff-level Technical Lead on architecture and with Product on roadmap, while owning hiring, growth, and how the team

Qualifications

• WAF or application security familiarity to partner with domain experts.
• Proven experience leading highly technical backend or platform teams in SaaS, cybersecurity, or cloud-scale.
• Track record delivering products under fixed dates with ambiguous requirements.
• Strong dependency and stakeholder management across many engineering teams.
• Understanding of security and reliability for multi-tenant SaaS.
• Experience partnering with a staff-level technical lead and defining ownership.
• Ability to hold a quality/safety bar and escalate scope tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a backend and security team with firewall expertise and clear career paths.
• Turn firewall workflows into buildable requirements and usable product capabilities.
• Partner with a Staff-level Technical Lead on architecture and with Product on roadmap/sequencing.
• Translate ambiguous goals into sequenced, deliverable work and actively manage scope.
• Stay technically engaged to challenge assumptions and unblock the team.
• Establish design review, release practices, on-call, and incident response discipline.
