Job summary

Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts is seeking a Part-time Ultrasound Teacher’s Aid for the San Jose campus. The role supports the Associate of Occupational Science in Vascular Ultrasound and involves classroom operations, student attendance/grading records, and lab assistance in a on-ground setting.

The ideal candidate holds ARDMS certification, has at least a high school diploma, and preferably one year of related experience, with strong organizational skills and professional communication.

Qualifications

• Organizational knowledge of educational institutions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain classroom operations and procedures for program effectiveness.
• Keep records of student attendance and grading.
• Monitor laboratory supplies and equipment.
• Collect and return homework after grading.
• Assist lab instructors during competency exams.
• Proctor exams in the computer lab.
• Communicate with students verbally in a courteous, professional manner.
• Communicate effectively in writing with students and staff.
• Organize classroom supplies and materials.
• Address classroom management issues with creativity.
• Show tact, resourcefulness, and judgement with all student groups.
• Foster cooperative relationships with faculty and administrative staff.
• Work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Follow directions from faculty to complete tasks.
• Remain flexible with time and assignments to accommodate learning styles.

We are currently seeking an Ultrasound Teacher’s Aid, Part-time for ourAssociate of Occupational Science in Vascular Ultrasound Program at our San Jose, CA Gurnick Campus. This is an On-Ground position at our Gurnick Campus.

Job Type: Part-time

Hourly Pay Range: $40.00 – $45.00 per hour

Days & Hours:Tuesday & Thursday, 1pm to 5PM

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

• Maintaining classroom operations and procedures to ensure program effectiveness and efficiency


• Maintaining records of students attendance and grading


• Monitoring supplies of laboratory


• Collecting homework and returning homework after it has been graded


• Assisting lab instructors during competency exams


• Proctoring exams in computer lab


• Verbally communicate with students in a courteous and professional manner


• Communicate effectively in writing in a courteous and professional manner


• Organize and arrange classroom supplies and materials


• Exercise creativity in addressing classroom management issues


• Exercise tact, resourcefulness and judgement with all student groups


• Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with faculty and administrative staff


• Work independently and under minimal supervision to effectively complete work tasks


• Follow direction given by faculty to ensure work is completed per instruction


• Flexibility with time and assignments to accommodate different learning styles of students.
