Job summary

Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts is seeking a Vascular Sonography (Ultrasound) Clinical Coordinator for our Van Nuys, CA campus. The role oversees daily clinical internships for Ultrasound students and ensures proper preparation and placement at affiliated sites.

The coordinator will learn Trajecsys, manage attendance and competencies, and serve as the liaison between classroom labs and clinical rotations to uphold site protocol expectations.

Qualifications

• AS Degree, BS Degree preferred.
• ARDMS, RVT, current licensure in good standing in their discipline.
• 3–5 years experience as a staff sonographer at an imaging facility/hospital/clinic.
• 1–3 years experience as an instructor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily clinical internships of Ultrasound students at affiliated sites.
• Oversee student internship preparation and placement at clinical rotations.
• Learn and use Trajecsys for site monitoring, attendance, competencies, and communication with instructors.

Salary Range: $95,000-$115,000

Basic Functions

The primary function of the Clinical Coordinator (CC) is to manage daily clinical internships of the Ultrasound students at their affiliated clinical site. CC’s manage and oversee student’s preparation for internship and placement at clinical rotations. CC must learn to use Trajecsys for monitoring of sites, attendance, competencies and communication with clinical instructors. CC must learn sonographer responsibilities, site expectations and protocols of each internship affiliate. The CC is the liaison between the lab classroom and the clinical sites to ensure that UT students are learning all protocol expectations of various clinical sites. CC will work with the UT Program Director and the Dean of Imaging with updates as to new protocols from clinical sites.

Clinical site acquisition assistance and/or participation and maintenance is a key responsibility for this role. CC student management includes student satisfactory internship progress maintenance, attendance, competency schedule and academic probation documentation. All documentation will be accounted for in student files, Trajecsys and intranet. CC will monitor lab class and can assist with didactic classroom delivery under the Program Directors guidance.
