Job summary

The Winchester Department of Social Services is seeking an Adult Protective Services Specialist to protect adults 60+ and incapacitated adults from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. You will work in the community, assess safety, and coordinate services.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's in a Human Services field or related experience, and be prepared to testify in court and complete timely documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field, or a Bachelor's Degree in any field with two years of related Social Work experience.
• Within 90 days of employment, you must have a driving commute within a one-hour timeframe of the City of Winchester limits.

Responsibilities

• Assess adult safety and risk by completing investigations.
• Develop plans to provide the appropriate level of care and maximize self-sufficiency.
• Schedule and attend home visits to ensure the safety of vulnerable adults.
• Coordinate referrals and encourage participation in services to foster independence and support caregivers.
• Prepare court reports, affidavits and testify in court.
• Complete required documentation in a timely manner, in accordance with policy.
