Job summary

Department of Family and Protective Services in Texas seeks an APS Investigator Specialist I to protect elderly and disabled adults. You will interview clients and family members, assess risks, and determine actions to ensure safety.

The role requires field visits and on-call scheduling with travel up to 75% within the state. New hires may qualify for a starting salary increase when holding a Master's in Social Work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field required.
• Experience in social or protective services preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 60% and work in the field.

Responsibilities

• Investigates reports of abuse, neglect or exploitation of elderly or disabled adults.
• Provides services after hours and on weekends to maintain 24-hour coverage.
• Develops individualized service plans and documents case details.
• Makes community presentations and participates in awareness activities.
• Promotes respect for cultural diversity among coworkers and stakeholders.
