Job summary

University of the District of Columbia is seeking a full-time professional to integrate immersive technologies into education, manage the VR lab, and teach faculty and students the fundamentals of virtual reality.

The ideal candidate will oversee VR experiences, maintenance, and collaboration with faculty to enhance learning through AR/VR applications, with a flexible schedule including some evenings and Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• Experience teaching or training, preferably in higher education.
• Experience managing a VR lab or technology-focused learning environment.
• Strong understanding of immersive technologies including AR/VR hardware and software.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and support students using VR equipment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop VR experiences to enhance learning and research applications.
• Develop instructional materials to support faculty and students in effectively using immersive technologies for teaching and learning.
• Maintain VR equipment and software, ensuring resources are up-to-date and well-documented.
• Manage the UDC VR Lab, including maintenance, scheduling, accessibility, and data management for students and faculty.
• Collaborate with faculty to integrate immersive technologies into curricula.
• Provide training and support to faculty and students to leverage immersive technology in learning.
