Job summary

LPL Financial is seeking a Vice President, Development Manager to lead multiple software teams building and modernizing trading technology platforms. You will shape technology strategy, drive cloud initiatives, and partner with business leaders to deliver scalable, secure solutions for advisors and clients.

You will mentor engineers, promote best practices, and ensure platform reliability and performance in a fast-paced, regulated financial services environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of leadership experience overseeing software engineering teams and delivery.
• 3+ years designing or supporting cloud-based solutions with AWS.
• 5+ years building or supporting distributed systems, messaging, or event-driven architectures.
• Experience in financial services, capital markets, trading technology, wealth management, fintech, or related regulated industries.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams to develop, modernize, and support trading platform applications and services.
• Define and execute cloud modernization strategies leveraging AWS and enterprise tech.
• Partner with Architecture, Product, Data, Infrastructure and business stakeholders to align investments.
• Drive design, development, and deployment of scalable, resilient cloud-native and hybrid platforms.
• Establish engineering standards, best practices, and delivery governance.
• Mentor engineers and provide architectural governance across teams.
• Ensure platform performance, resiliency, availability, and disaster recovery.
