Job summary

State Street Corporation seeks an engineering leader to drive a multi-year modernization and cloud-migration program for middle-office applications on AWS. You will own engineering delivery and the AI-augmented delivery model across discovery, code conversion, testing and deployment.

You will set standards for microservices, containers, and data design, and build a capable cloud-native team while ensuring governance and risk controls aligned with financial services requirements.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in software engineering with 5+ years leading large teams on modernization/cloud migrations
• Hands-on in Java/Spring, microservices, REST, messaging (Kafka/IBM MQ) and AWS
• Experience migrating legacy stacks (COBOL, C/C++, PowerBuilder, Sybase) to modern platforms
• Familiar with CI/CD, DevSecOps, secrets management and observability
• Experience delivering in regulated financial services with change controls

Responsibilities

• Lead modernization engineering team to rebuild middle-office apps as cloud-native AWS services
• Set engineering standards for microservices, containers and data design
• Own delivery plans, estimates and release quality with cross-functional teams
• Lead AI-augmented delivery and design the SDLC with AI agents
• Ensure governance, secure-coding gates and audit trails for AI-generated code
