Job summary

State Street is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to modernize our Internal Audit tech ecosystem. You will own end-to-end development of enterprise‑grade, secure, scalable applications in a cloud‑native environment, serving as a hands-on technical leader and collaborator across AI, data, security, and business stakeholders.

You will design, build, test, and operate full stack apps, driving architecture decisions and engineering standards while delivering measurable improvements to audit

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years delivering enterprise full stack web apps and APIs in cloud environments with production ownership.
• Experience as a senior/lead engineer driving technical design decisions and mentoring engineers.
• Proficiency in React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3; strong backend with RESTful APIs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as hands-on lead engineer, owning design and implementation of complex full stack features across frontend, backend, APIs, and data layers.
• Lead technical design and solution architecture for key initiatives; translate requirements into scalable systems.
• Build high‑quality user interfaces with component-driven architectures and modern state management.
• Design and implement secure, resilient backend services and RESTful APIs for enterprise workflows and AI-enabled journeys.
• Set and reinforce engineering standards through reviews and documentation.
