Job summary

Corgi seeks a VP, State Government Affairs to build and own the state function nationwide. You’ll engage regulators and lawmakers, shaping how we interact with fifty state insurance departments.

This executive role reports to the SVP and carries seniority to drive policy, trust, and strategic statewide engagement. The role requires extensive travel, deep regulatory knowledge, and the ability to operate across state capitals with a focus on policy, strategy, and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with state regulators, governors' offices, and legislative staff.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain direct relationships with state insurance commissioners and senior staff across the country.
  • Represent Corgi with regulators, lawmakers, and policy venues in state capitals.
  • Drive state PAC program strategy, governance, and multi-state compliance in coordination with counsel.
  • Travel extensively to state capitals and regulatory venues to advance engagement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to translate ground signals into action and policy support.
  • Oversee contract lobbyists to amplify relationships, not substitute them.
  • Monitor regulatory signals and political dynamics to anticipate issues before they arise.
  • Engage with NAIC, NCOIL, and regulator working groups to shape policy discourse.
  • Cultivate relationships with key legislators and staff, preparing for opportunities to advocate.
