Job summary

VGW is seeking a Regional Lead to translate lobbying strategy into targeted, state-specific campaigns across the United States. You will manage external contract lobbyists, build relationships with state government officials, and deliver actionable field intelligence to central leadership.

The role is suited to an experienced state-level government affairs professional who can operate autonomously within a clear strategy. This position is remote and open to candidates nationwide.

Qualifications

• 7–12+ years in state government, lobbying, or political campaigns.
• Experience managing external vendors/contract lobbyists.
• Knowledge of gaming regulation or comparable policy areas.
• Strong relationships with state government officials.
• Experience in fast-moving tech/fintech/gaming sectors.
• Proficiency with legislative tracking tools.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary accountability manager for external lobbyists; set expectations, review deliverables, and provide performance assessments.
• Translate VGW’s policy positions into state-specific advocacy messaging and tailor arguments to local dynamics.
• Develop and maintain relationships with state legislators, committee staff, attorneys general offices, and regulators.
• Participate in cross-regional strategy sessions to align messaging and share field intelligence.
• Represent VGW at hearings, fundraisers, conferences, and stakeholder engagements within the portfolio.
• Monitor and track active legislation across states affecting social gaming, sweepstakes, consumer protection, and related policy areas.
