Job summary

Milwaukee Succeeds seeks a strategic leader to head Regulatory and State Relations. This VP will shape and drive the company’s state regulatory and legislative agenda, advise the CEO, and engage regulators, NAIC, and industry groups at the enterprise level.

The role requires 10+ years in regulatory affairs or public policy within insurance/finance, and strong leadership to align cross‑functional teams and external partners. Extensive travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in political science, business, law or public policy; master's preferred.
• Minimum 10 years in regulatory affairs, government relations or leadership in insurance or finance.
• Deep expertise in state insurance regulation, NAIC processes and multi-state initiatives.
• Proven track record influencing policy at state and national levels.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize, shape, and drive the state's regulatory and legislative strategy.
• Advise the CEO and senior leaders on priority regulatory risks and opportunities.
• Lead state regulatory policy, regulator engagement, and advocacy strategy.
• Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, Product, Distribution, and Operations.
• Represent the company with NAIC, industry associations, and regulators.
• Oversee staff and external partners to execute enterprise objectives.
• Travel frequently to state capitals, DC, and industry events.
