Job summary

State Street Corporation seeks a Senior Platform Engineer (VP) to architect and implement cloud and hybrid data platforms, enabling scalable analytics and secure infrastructure. You will drive IaC, automate toil, and mentor engineers while aligning with cybersecurity and reliability goals.

Hybrid environment with on-site collaboration and leadership across multiple cloud providers. Strong emphasis on end-to-end ownership, observability, and scalable data systems to support enterprise needs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of production engineering and management experience using DevOps toolset & methodologies.
• 8+ years in production code using Python, Golang, Ruby or JavaScript.
• 5+ years in large-scale production infra management with AWS/GCP/Azure.
• Experience building and managing cybersecurity platforms (Splunk, Sentinel, ELK, Databricks).
• Strong experience with Ansible, Chef, Puppet for automation.
• IaC design and implementation using Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, AWS CDK or similar.
• CI/CD pipeline design and implementation focused on frequent production releases.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure across large infrastructures.
• Core cloud security principles and securing cloud platforms.
• Troubleshooting complex cloud environments and monitoring performance.
• Linux fundamentals, networking, filesystems, kernel, isolation.
• End-to-end ownership and autonomous project leadership.
• Observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog.
• Distributed systems concepts.

Responsibilities

• Architect cloud & hybrid infrastructure with multi-region HA & DR.
• Automate toil and design for reliability and velocity.
• Mentor Platform Engineers and share knowledge.
• Develop software for deployment, monitoring, and automation.
• Own platform implementation end-to-end from user perspective.
• Maintain live services by monitoring availability and latency.
• Design petabyte-scale systems for data analytics tooling.
• Scale data systems to meet business needs in a dynamic environment.
