Job summary

Altorfer Rents is seeking a Vice President to lead the rental division's strategy, operations, financial performance, and customer experience. This leader will guide the management team, drive profitable growth and market share, and use financial, operational, and customer data to improve performance.

The role works closely with Altorfer divisions and Caterpillar representatives to deliver strong results across equipment rentals, parts, service, and sales.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma and 2 year college degree.
• 10 years of upper management experience in the rental services industry.
• Experience with negotiating and administering collective bargaining agreements.
• Proven ability to successfully manage people and teams.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills (written, e-mail, and verbal).
• Strong understanding of the relationship between Equipment Rentals, Parts, Service, and Equipment Sales.
• Proven ability to profitably manage inventory with a strong understanding of utilization metrics.
• Must have a good understanding of Caterpillar and Allied equipment typically found in the rental industry.
• Advanced understanding of financial reporting (P/L statements and Balance sheets) and financial analysis.
• Ability to think strategically and make decisions with ambiguous data.
• Excellent planning & organizational skills.
• Proven ability to take the initiative, be team oriented and willingness to adapt to change.

Responsibilities

• Leadership of the Altorfer Rents Division and overall results.
• Drive profitable growth while maximizing market share.
• Ensure employees, customers and visitors follow safe work practices.
• Develop and execute short and long range plans in support of Altorfer strategic initiatives.
• Provide strategic direction, market analysis, business planning and operational oversight to the management team.
• Work with other Altorfer divisions and Caterpillar representatives.
• Drive performance improvement across the organization by positive motivation and identifying inefficiencies.
• Review and analyze financial, operational, marketing, staffing, and customer data.
• Represent the company during collective bargaining and resolve grievances as necessary.
• Resolve customer service issues as needed.
• Communicate effectively with leadership and the Board of Directors.
