Job summary

AEGIS Insurance Services, Inc. is seeking a Vice President of Loss Control, Property Operations, to lead development and implementation of Property Loss Control programs, support underwriting and insureds, and supervise jurisdictional inspections.

The role requires extensive experience in property and boiler/machinery operations and strong leadership capabilities. Travel is substantial (50–70%), with collaboration across underwriters, claims, and external inspection firms.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years of technical experience in Property and/or Boiler Machinery operations, maintenance, or inspection work associated with the electric power generating industry, and/or risk management/broker experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience including supervising remote workers, budgets, schedules, and proposals.
• Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) and ARM/ASP/CSP certifications are a plus.
• NFPA codes knowledge and loss control principles for electric power and natural gas industries.
• Knowledge of NBIC and ASME codes for pressure vessel operations/maintenance.
• Travel required 50–70%.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior VP of Loss Control in developing business plans.
• Coordinate Property, Boiler/Machinery and Jurisdictional Inspection services for insureds.
• Supervise Property engineering projects with proposals, estimates, third-party coordination, and risk assessment reports.
• Collaborate with Property Underwriters to identify service opportunities and revenue streams.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities, including new technology and AI to streamline operations.
• Meet insureds and brokers to expand Loss Control services and conduct marketing presentations.
• Manage vendor relationships with inspection firms and review time/expense data for cost structure changes.
• Assist in development and reconciliation of fiscal operating and capital budgets.
• Engage with Claims to understand drivers of property claims and assist with risk insights.
• Develop contractual agreements with third-party providers and changes to Loss Control terms.
• Coordinate with natural catastrophe modeling team for risk assessments.
• Track, implement, and utilize Property Loss Control credits.
• Develop Property loss codes and build a statistical claims database.
• Participate in industry seminars and document near-miss lessons learned.
• Support London operations as needed.
• Guide and mentor staff with skill-building opportunities.
