Job summary

Optum is seeking a VP to own the enterprise portfolio strategy and product development lifecycle for Optum Insight Product. You will ground concepts in payer and provider priorities, validate demand, and drive disciplined investment and governance decisions across a matrixed organization.

This role leads AI-enabled capabilities, defines multiyear portfolio strategy, translates business models into priorities, and partners with Product, Technology, Finance, and Sales to execute funded roadmaps

Qualifications

15+ years of experience in product or portfolio strategy, commercialization, or transformation.
10+ years leading enterprise strategy in complex organizations.
5+ years in payer/provider markets with healthcare economics and workflows.
Experience end-to-end product lifecycle management.
Experience applying AI, automation and analytics to product strategy.
Executive presence to influence senior stakeholders.
Willingness to travel 15-25%.

Responsibilities

Champion AI as core driver of product strategy and team performance.
Define and maintain multiyear portfolio strategy, including market priorities and expansion opportunities.
Translate payer and provider needs into actionable portfolio priorities.
Assess market demand across payer/provider ecosystems to shape interoperable solutions.
Establish standards for ideation, discovery, market testing, and validation before investment.
Shape portfolio and roadmap decisions, including invest, acquire, or partner based on value and fit.
