Job summary

Western Alliance Bank is seeking a Vice President, Portfolio Manager in Costa Mesa, CA to analyze, structure, underwrite, and close major loans in line with lending policies. You will coordinate with the Commercial Banker to monitor credit risks while supporting regional goals and closing desirable credits.

The role requires extensive portfolio management experience, strong banking knowledge, and compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of related experience in Portfolio Management or similar field.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
• Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interface with clients in-person, over the phone and email to assess credit needs and determine the best structure for analysis.
• Gather and analyze information to present a financing request for approval.
• Coordinate processing of approved loans per agreement and lending policies.
• Reinforce superior customer service and follow-through with customers and employees.
• Handle underwriting, portfolio management and related tasks for new loan requests and existing portfolios.
