This hands-on leadership role owns the platform layer end-to-end, including distributed systems, API design, cloud architecture, and production AI operations, with a strong track record of scaling platforms through funding transitions.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in platform engineering, along with startup or rapid growth experience, and are proficient in TypeScript and Python.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of platform engineering experience with hands-on background in distributed systems, API design, and cloud architecture.
• Recent startup experience (Series A-D) or rapid career progression to VP level at a reputable big tech company.
• Experience scaling a platform or infrastructure team through a funding transition.
• Strong TypeScript and/or Python.
• Daily, deep use of frontier AI tools in workflow.
• BS in CS or STEM-related field.

Responsibilities

• Own the platform engineering function end-to-end - distributed systems, API design, cloud architecture, and production AI operations.
• Scale the platform and infrastructure team through the company’s next growth stage.
• Lead and grow engineering teams while staying hands-on and technically credible.
• Partner with product and engineering leadership to align platform investments with business outcomes.
• Drive AI-native engineering workflows across the team - daily, deep use of frontier AI tools as standard practice
