FutureTech Recruitment is partnering with a high-growth AI x FinTech startup to hire a VP of Platform Engineering. This hands-on leadership role owns the platform layer end-to-end, including distributed systems, API design, cloud architecture, and production AI operations, with a strong track record of scaling platforms through funding transitions.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in platform engineering, along with startup or rapid growth experience, and are proficient in TypeScript and Python.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of platform engineering experience with hands-on background in distributed systems, API design, and cloud architecture.
• Recent startup experience (Series A-D) or rapid career progression to VP level at a reputable big tech company.
• Experience scaling a platform or infrastructure team through a funding transition.
• Strong TypeScript and/or Python.
• Daily, deep use of frontier AI tools in workflow.
• BS in CS or STEM-related field.

FutureTech Recruitment is partnered with a $30M funded Series A AI x FinTech startup that is already cash-flow positive. Their agentic AI platform is trusted by hundreds of enterprise clients in a regulated financial services market, reaching over 10 million end users across the US. Not a demo company - real revenue, real customers, and a category-leading position in a market being fundamentally disrupted by AI.

They’re now hiring a VP of Platform Engineering to own the platform layer end-to-end - distributed systems, API design, cloud architecture, and production AI operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who has scaled a platform through a major funding or growth transition and is ready to take full ownership at a profitable, fast-growing AI startup.

Responsibilities

• Scale the platform and infrastructure team through the company’s next growth stage
• Lead and grow engineering teams while staying hands-on and technically credible

Requirements

• 10+ years of platform engineering experience with hands-on background in distributed systems, API design, and cloud architecture
• Recent startup experience (Series A-D) or rapid career progression to VP level at a reputable big tech company
• Experience scaling a platform or infrastructure team through a funding transition
• Strong TypeScript and/or Python
• Daily, deep use of frontier AI tools (e.g. Claude, Cursor) in workflow - must have
• BS in CS or STEM-related field
• Must be willing to work onsite in San Francisco 5 days/week
• Background in conversational AI, voice AI, FinTech, or regulated financial services a strong plus
