VP Engineering (AI SaaS Start-up) - early stage - hands on technical builder

Location: US

A high-growth, early-stage AI SaaS start-up is looking for a VP Engineering to take its platform from working product to global scale. You will be the senior technical decision-maker and leader - equally comfortable setting long-term architectural direction and getting hands-on to build.

The traction is real. In a short period of time the company has experienced significant enterprise adoption and growth, with high seven figures in revenue and growing exponentially. Product-market fit is not the question. The platform to support the next phase of scalable growth needs to be rebuilt - re-architected from working foundations into enterprise‑grade, secure, and compliant infrastructure designed to scale.

You'll lead a distributed engineering team and decide how to build for this next stage of growth.

What's required

0→1 and 1→10 experience inside a VC‑backed, high‑growth startup, where you have been instrumental to scaling the business to $100M+ and beyond. You can earn credibility in a room of senior engineers, set the direction they execute against, and roll up your sleeves when it matters. Strong system design and architecture chops - high‑scale, secure, compliant products - with a track record in complex B2B SaaS and regulated industries; financial services experience is a strong plus. You stay current with AI and modern engineering practices, and you thrive in fast‑moving environments where the roadmap isn't handed to you.
