Job summary

Gravie, based in Minneapolis, seeks a Vice President of Platform & Architecture to lead the shared technology foundations that enable scalable product development and AI adoption within Engineering.

This hands-on leader will own platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, architecture, developer experience, quality engineering enablement, and product support operations, while personally engaging in critical technical decisions and prototyping.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience in platform engineering, architecture, and developer experience.
• Hands-on technical executive capable of strategic and detailed design work.
• Proven track record building shared platforms used by multiple teams.
• Improving engineering productivity, platform reliability, and operational effectiveness.
• Experience building AI foundations in customer-facing products.
• Experience with generative AI architecture, agent orchestration, retrieval, evaluation, observability, and production ops.
• Experience driving adoption of agentic development across engineering.
• Experience applying AI agents in customer service, internal ops, or software development.
• Experience establishing or leading product support ops and cross-functional capabilities.
• Ability to operate in regulated environments with Security, Privacy, Legal compliance.
• Strong leadership, executive communication, financial management, and vendor-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute Gravie’s platform, architecture, and cloud strategy, creating the shared technology foundation for scalable product development.
• Own a prioritized platform roadmap informed by product strategy, engineering needs, and business priorities.
• Lead architecture across shared services and product domains, guiding major cross-team technology decisions.
• Engage in architecture, reviews, prototyping, and problem-solving to accelerate learning or reduce risk.
• Establish technical standards and platform practices improving reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
• Build Gravie’s AI platform with secure model access, orchestration, and lifecycle management.
• Lead adoption of agentic development across Engineering with tooling, training, and measurement of impact.
• Establish quality engineering practices, tooling, and automation to boost release confidence.
• Lead product support operations across Customer Ops, Product, and Engineering.
• Partner with Customer Ops to deploy AI agents improving support and customer experience.
• Develop a high-performing organization with Product, Engineering, Data, Security, Legal, and Ops leadership.
