VP or Director, Structuring – Capital Markets
New York, New York

Description

About Us: Headquartered in Chicago, Performance Trust Capital Partners, LLC is an investment bank that combines Wall Street scale with the agility of an independent, employee-owned firm. We help financial institutions uncover overlooked opportunities, navigate complexity, and make decisions grounded in insight—not impulse. Our work is focused on long-term impact and relationships built on what matters most: trust and enduring performance.

About the Position: Performance Trust is seeking a highly analytical, execution-focused Vice President or Director, Structuring, to join our Capital Markets team in New York. This role will serve as a dedicated structuring and modeling professional responsible for supporting the design, analysis, and execution of complex structured transactions.

This individual will play a critical role in transaction execution by building and maintaining cash flow models, analyzing collateral and deal structure performance, and helping transaction teams evaluate alternatives with precision and speed. The role is ideal for someone with deep technical structuring capabilities, strong experience with securitization and structured products, and fluency in Intex Dealmaker and related analytical tools.

Specifically, this individual will be responsible for the following:

  • Build, run, and maintain detailed cash flow models for structured transactions across a range of asset types and deal structures (RMBS, ABS and CMBS).
  • Ability to use Intex Dealmaker and related tools to build-out complex rated and non-rated structures and collateral cashflows.
  • Support transaction teams in evaluating structural alternatives, sensitivities, and execution tradeoffs in real time throughout the life of a deal.
  • Review collateral, transaction terms, waterfalls, triggers, credit enhancement, and other structural components to ensure analytical accuracy and consistency between model and legal documents.
  • Translate complex modeling outputs into clear internal insights that help deal teams make informed structuring and execution decisions.
  • Partner closely with Capital Markets teammates to support live transaction execution, including work tied to tight timelines, active closings, and high-volume periods.
  • Develop, refine, and maintain modeling templates, analytics, and process tools that improve consistency, efficiency, and scalability across the structures.
  • Perform quality control on transaction assumptions, model outputs, and structural inputs to identify issues, inconsistencies, or risks before execution.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including Legal, Compliance, Operations, and production teams, to ensure relevant analytical information is incorporated accurately into transaction workflows.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing around structuring methodology, modeling best practices, and analytical tools.
  • Help support the continued build-out of the Capital Markets structuring platform by bringing rigor, dependability, and strong execution discipline to the team.
  • Perform other duties, analyses, and strategic projects as assigned.

Requirements

We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, engineering, statistics, accounting, or another quantitative discipline.
  • 4-7+ years of relevant experience in Intex structuring, cash flow modeling, securitization, structured products, ABS, RMBS, CMBS, CLOs, or a related capital markets environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, analyze, and interpret detailed cash flow models and deal structures with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Experience working with Rating Agencies including DBRS, KBRA, S&P and Moodys to size and optimize deals.
  • Strong understanding of structured finance concepts, including waterfalls, triggers, prepayment/default assumptions, credit enhancement, bond cash flows, and tranche behavior.
  • Experience working under transaction-driven timelines in a fast-paced execution environment including tying out model outputs with Accountants on live deals.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and a high standard for quality control.
  • Strong Excel and AI prompting skills and comfort working with large and detailed datasets.
  • Ability to communicate technical outputs clearly and efficiently to internal partners who rely on the analysis to execute transactions.
  • Self-starter mindset with strong ownership, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while coordinating closely with a broader team.
  • Highly dependable, organized, and responsive, with the ability to manage multiple live workstreams at once.
  • Willingness to work in person in the New York office; this role is expected to be based in New York City.
