Job summary

SIDEARM is rebuilding its platform from the ground up, and we are hiring the engineering leader who will steer the future. As Vice President of Software Engineering, you will lead a 35+ person team across web, mobile, API and platform, owning the craft, speed and reliability of every release.

You will set the engineering pace, grow the team, and deliver a modern platform that serves college athletics for the next decade. Close partnership with product and a focus on scale are essential.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in software engineering with leadership of engineers
• Practical grasp of agentic AI and data pipelines
• Experience rebuilding or scaling a product to handle large traffic
• Cloud architecture depth for distributed systems
• Experience delivering web and mobile apps with a shared platform
• Quality as a system with test automation and incident response

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 35+ engineers and own all software disciplines
• Architect migration to modern CMS and cloud-native foundation
• Implement rigorous release gates and incident management
• Ensure performance and scalability for peak game-day traffic
• Partner with product leaders from the earliest design stage
• Drive AI/data-driven improvements in content, ops and tooling
