Anchor Co-Living in California is seeking a VP of Operations to lead the next growth chapter, turning vision into scalable systems, teams, and rhythms that support rapid expansion.

You will drive occupancy and financial performance, oversee staffing and compliance, and partner with the CEO to scale from today’s 200 beds to 1,500 beds by 2028 and 6,000 beds across California by 2034, building an operating foundation for long-term expansion.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years in operations with senior-level experience
• Experience scaling in scrappy, resource-constrained environments
• Comfortable owning a P&L and driving performance
• Strong people leadership to grow managers, not just teams
• Thrives in ambiguity, complexity, and growth
• Mission-aligned with respect for the people served
• Able to complement a visionary founder with structure and execution
• Grounded, direct, and mature leadership style

Responsibilities

• Build scalable systems, processes, and standards across markets
• Own occupancy performance and drive operating consistency
• Develop and execute a repeatable market expansion playbook
• Lead the operating cadence with KPI reviews and leadership routines
• Grow headcount to 100+ staff with right people in seats
• Recruit, develop, and retain strong leaders across functions
• Collaborate with finance to improve visibility into occupancy, billing, and margins
• Balance growth with cost discipline and strong operational judgment
