Job summary

Stanley Martin Homes, a leading homebuilder, seeks a General Manager to guide daily operations while aligning with long-range goals. You will oversee sales, construction, land, and purchasing, driving performance and profitability across the division.

You will coach leaders, influence hiring, and foster strong relationships with trade partners and external stakeholders, ensuring execution excellence and customer value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, construction or related field is required.
• MBA is preferred but not required.
• Minimum 8 years homebuilding experience across at least two business areas (e.g., sales and production or purchasing and finance).
• Experience in a “leader of leaders” role.
• Ability to read and interpret financial statements, manage budgets, and understand financial implications of operational decisions.

Responsibilities

• Guide the division’s daily operations while tracking long-range goals and priorities.
• Review sales, construction, land, and purchasing activity to assess performance and needs.
• Coach leaders, support hiring decisions, and build strong relationships with trade partners and external stakeholders.
• Monitor local market trends and influence land strategy and future community planning.
