Job summary

Stanley Martin Homes, a leading homebuilder with a strong Virginia presence, seeks a Vice President of Land Acquisition. You will lead land sourcing, relationships with landowners, and development services for residential projects. You will guide teams, manage analyses, and coordinate due diligence to support strategic growth.

You will work across stakeholders to ensure feasibility, provide market insights, and uphold the company mission while driving long-term value and project success.

Qualifications

• Must Haves College degree preferred.
• Experience managing team members and guiding careers of Analysts and Managers.
• Strong experience in providing land acquisition and development services for residential homebuilders.
• Highly skilled and proven results in developing landowner relationships.
• Highly knowledgeable in due diligence and feasibility study processes.
• General negotiating, contracting and legal skills.
• General understanding of finance and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Guide the search for new communities while aligning with the company's long‑term goals.
• Review and update land reports to track current and future lot inventory; communicate with landowners, brokers, and industry partners.
• Evaluate opportunities through underwriting and proforma analysis; negotiate contracts and drive due diligence for corporate review.
