Job summary

Lennar seeks a VP of Forward Planning to lead entitlement, contracting, and site development for new communities in California. You will manage forward planning personnel, site purchasing and development field managers, coordinating with Land Acquisition to drive community design and approvals.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5–7 years in home building, with strong leadership, negotiation, and budgeting skills. Lennar offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, accounting, finance or similar program.
• 5–7 years of related experience including home building experience.
• Advanced PC skills, including the use of Excel; ability to read civil engineering/development plans.
• Strong communication, initiative, problem-solving, and team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide land feasibility analysis including environmental issues and infrastructure needs.
• Negotiate pre-closing agreements to minimize development risk.
• Create site plans, cost estimates, and risk assessments.
• Pursue governmental approvals and manage entitlement processes.
• Coordinate with external consultants and internal teams.
• Lead forward planning and project management to meet design timelines and budgets.
• Oversee purchasing and site construction management.
