Job summary

Lennar is a leading homebuilder seeking a VP of Forward Planning to lead forward planning, entitlement approvals, and site development across communities. You will manage multidisciplinary teams, coordinate consultants and internal staff, and ensure projects meet schedule and cost targets.

Responsibilities include negotiating with agencies, developing feasibility packages, and guiding architectural/engineering design. A strong background in land development and team leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in business, engineering, accounting, finance, or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in home building or related development sectors.
• Advanced PC skills including Excel.
• Ability to read, understand and evaluate civil engineering/development plans.
• Proficient in word-processing, spreadsheet analysis, project scheduling and data management software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide land acquisition analysis relative to environmental issues, title, infrastructure needs, and site feasibility.
• Determine pre-closing agreements and conditions to minimize land development risk.
• Create site plans, preliminary designs, cost estimates, risk assessments and summary reports.
• Pursue and obtain governmental approvals for development, including plans and map approvals.
• Negotiate with government agencies (e.g., School Districts, US Fish & Wildlife, FEMA).
• Resolve third-party agreements and represent the company at neighborhood, City Council and Planning Commission meetings.
• Coordinate external consultants and internal staff in entitlements and land development.
• Supervise acquisition feasibility packages including site-budget analysis and risk mitigation.
• Oversee architectural, engineering and landscape design development.
