Job summary

Tatsu-Ya Restaurants seeks a strategic VP of Finance to lead all accounting and finance functions across multiple restaurant concepts. You will partner with the CEO on long-term financial strategy, oversee forecasting, and drive internal controls, budgeting, and cash optimization.

You will also guide board reporting, finance team development, and cross-functional collaboration to support growth and operational efficiency. This is a high-impact role in a dynamic hospitality group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CPA or MBA preferred.
• 10-15+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience.
• 5-8+ years leading finance teams.
• Multi-unit restaurant experience preferred.
• Experience presenting to Boards and executive leadership.
• Experience with budgeting, FP&A, treasury, and financial strategy.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Experience with restaurant ERP/POS systems (Restaurant365, Compeat, NetSuite, Sage, etc.).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with vendors and internal/external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as financial thought partner to the CEO and broader executive team.
• Translate financial variables into decisions; provide ROI frameworks for investments.
• Lead analytical evaluations of restaurant performance and capital opportunities.
• Oversee finance and accounting operations across multiple concepts with timely reporting.
• Guide budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and internal controls.
• Collaborate with department heads and external auditors for audits and planning.
• Develop long-term financial strategy and multi-year plans with KPI dashboards.
