Job summary

Eaton is seeking a VP of Engineering to provide strategic technical leadership for the Electrical Sector, focusing on data center solutions and customer-driven design across global teams.

You will guide the development and execution of product strategies, ensuring robust validation, compliance, and scalable deployment while building a high-performance engineering workforce. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of professional engineering experience with 7+ years of direct people leadership.
• Experience in a highly matrix global organization at scale.
• Significant experience in electrical components/systems design, new product development, and program management.
• Proficiency in data center infrastructure, including cooling, power conversion, distribution, intelligent software monitoring systems and redundancy.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Group President and Senior Leadership Team to establish and execute business and functional goals and objectives.
• Establish an integrated technology plan and roadmap across data center products lines.
• Establish and lead a formal customer requirements intake and translation process that convert customer needs into clear product requirements, system requirements, and validation criteria.
• Establish an end-to-end system validation approach for data center solutions, including test strategies and deployment at scale.
• Drive alignment with product management and product line engineering on prioritization, scope, and roadmap integration.
• Implement governance to track customer-driven requirements from intake through release with clear ownership.
• Develop and operate an execution model with program management and lean reviews, global staffing, and collaboration tools.
• Ensure generation of intellectual property and compliance with IP, environmental, export, and regulatory standards.
• Drive a high-performance workforce through coaching, mentorship, and talent development.
