Job summary

Moby Technologies, Inc. is seeking a senior engineering leader who will own and ship scalable AI-powered systems. The role combines hands-on coding with strategic leadership, architecting data and AI pipelines and guiding both offshore and in-house teams.

You will set engineering standards, accelerate delivery, and partner with founders on product strategy and technical diligence for partnerships. NYC-area hybrid preferred, with remote options within US time zones.

Qualifications

• Shipped at scale, ideally at a top-tier tech company or major fintech.
• Deep fluency in modern AI development: LLM apps, RAG, evals, production AI economics.
• Builder mindset: prototype-first, then systemize as needed.
• Experienced people leader with ability to run distributed teams and hire top engineers.
• Comfortable across the stack: Go, Node.js, NextJS, Flutter, GCP/Postgres.

Responsibilities

• Build and own architecture, codebase, and AI pipelines, hands-on most weeks.
• Drive AI innovation: LLM-powered research engine, retrieval, evaluation, cost accounting, caching.
