Job summary

New York Life is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to lead cloud platform engineering across AWS, GCP, and Azure. You will mentor engineers, drive reliability, and deliver scalable, secure infrastructure with IaC automation.

You will partner with product teams, implement SRE practices, and optimize cloud costs while shaping standard platform patterns and CI/CD pipelines. Hybrid work arrangement and competitive compensation are offered.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in IT, infrastructure, platform engineering, or cloud engineering.
• 5+ years AWS experience.
• 3+ years designing, automating, and operating scalable cloud solutions.
• Ability to produce production-grade IaC and perform code reviews.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and coordinate engineers.
• Strong business and technical acumen with ability to influence decisions.
• SDLC, DevOps, incident response, and production operations practices.
• AWS certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of repeatable cloud solutions using Terraform, GitHub, and related automation tools.
• Develop and deploy full stack patterns to support data platform capabilities and AI services.
• Partner with application and product teams to assess requirements and support AWS implementations.
• Define and mature SRE practices, including SLO/SLI frameworks and error-budget governance.
• Create and maintain IaC/Terraform Modules for cloud onboarding and lifecycle management.
• Mentor engineers and drive cross-functional initiatives across teams.
• Focus on reliability metrics: uptime, throughput, and load speed.
• Review platform designs and mitigate delivery risks; advise on cost optimization.
