Job summary

New York Life is seeking a Cloud Site Reliability Engineering Services Leader to drive modernization of AWS platforms and self-service infrastructure. You will mentor engineers, promote automation, and build scalable, secure patterns across the NYL software estate.

Requirements include 8+ years in IT/DevOps/SRE with 3+ years in leadership, strong Terraform and Kubernetes skills, and experience with CI/CD and observability tools. This hybrid role supports NYL’s evolving AI-enabled tech strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a computer science or related field; equivalent experience accepted.
• AWS DevOps or Solutions Architect professional certs preferred.
• 8+ years in IT/DevOps/SRE with 3+ years in technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the SRE team focused on AWS-hosted platforms and automation.
• Develop and enforce IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and standardized patterns.
• Set SLIs/SLOs and manage incident response plus blameless RCAs.
• Collaborate with security, platform, and development teams on roadmaps.
