Job summary

Cardinal Health in the United States is seeking a Vice President, Network Operations to lead centralized strategic supply chain initiatives and standardize workflows across a world‑class distribution network.

The role reports to the Senior Vice President, Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Operations and drives capital planning, network design, and automation capabilities. Ohio-based location preferred with relocation assistance provided.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain or related field preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management functions preferred.
  • Automation deployment experience in a distribution center or manufacturing site environment preferred.
  • Experience leading new distribution center builds and implementations, from strategic planning and site readiness through operational launch and continuous improvement.
  • Proven experience developing and executing enterprise-wide supply chain network strategies that drive service excellence, cost savings, network efficiency, capacity optimization, and operational performance.
  • Proven ability to interface and partner with executive business leaders and strategic partners.
  • Strong track record of leveraging cross-functional resources to deliver supply chain solutions.
  • Innovative and critical thinking, adaptability in problem-solving, and the ability to provide actionable outcomes.
  • Strong presentation skills suitable for all levels of the organization.
  • Large scale business case development with financial acumen.
  • Executive-level leadership experience managing diversity of talent across geographies.
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
  • Demonstrates timely decision making, priority setting, and well-rounded perspective.
  • Possesses excellent process and program management skills.
  • Demonstrates active listening and the ability to think creatively.
  • Ability to travel 20%.
  • Ohio-based location preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the Network Operations vision, strategy, and goals in line with company priorities.
  • Oversee supply chain modernization strategy, roadmap and investment plan for digital and automation.
  • Lead continuous improvement to enhance service quality, reliability and efficiency.
  • Design and assess network framework to optimize time and costs to market.
  • Diagnose challenges and support system, process, and physical improvements across the network.
  • Govern policies and procedures to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead metrics, reporting, and executive communications for network performance.
  • Execute new supply chain programs and lean initiatives.
  • Oversee KPIs and drive performance improvements.
  • Manage overall function budget aligned with priorities.
  • Oversee capital investments including automation deployment and DC modernization.
  • Lead the Network Operations team and talent development.
  • Ensure labor management programs deliver results.
  • Lead strategic projects across the network.
  • Support RFPs with inventory, capacity and service level guidance.
  • Plan transportation and DC capacity expansion or consolidation.
