Job summary

ND Defense LLC in Madison Heights, MI is seeking a Vice President of Business Development. You will own the revenue number and lead sales, marketing, and business development with direct reporting to the CEO.

You will personally engage NAVSEA program offices and government buyers to bring in work, scaling the team once the model proves successful. The role requires extensive defense sales experience, DoD contracting knowledge, and the ability to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• Twelve or more years in defense, aerospace, or government contracting sales and business development, including five or more carrying a revenue target at VP, Senior Director, or equivalent level.
• Engineering or technical degree; the depth to hold conversations with customers' engineers.
• Working knowledge of FAR and DFARS, ITAR, government contract vehicles, and DoD pricing structures.

Responsibilities

• Own the full sales cycle from opportunity identification through contract award: capture strategy, proposal, negotiation, and close.
• Develop naval capture strategy from the ground up with primes and government offices; build relationships with key stakeholders.
• Lead marketing, branding, and external presence at industry days and trade shows; oversee HubSpot usage and AI tooling for prospecting and proposals.
• Hire and scale a sales/marketing organization as booked revenue justifies it.
