Job summary

Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary seeks an Assistant Vice President for Human Resources and Title IX Coordinator to lead all HR functions and oversee the Title IX program. This senior role reports to the president and collaborates with the Senior Leadership Team to shape people strategies in a faith-based academic environment.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree, at least three years of HR leadership experience, and a track record in payroll, benefits, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business management, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience leading a human resources department.
• Experience in payroll and benefits management for 150+ employees.
• Proficient knowledge of federal and state employment, benefit, and payroll laws.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• SHRM or HRCI certification, or commensurate experience

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of employment, payroll, and benefits legislation and ensures compliance.
• Works with leadership to foster a positive, productive work environment and open feedback culture.
• Develops and maintains organization-wide management training for current and future managers.
• Oversees Title IX program and investigations with senior personnel guidance.
• Manages payroll processing, benefits design, and annual open enrollment.
• Supports budget planning and implementation related to payroll and benefits.
