Goldman Sachs Electronic Market Making team in New York seeks a Senior Software Engineer, Vice President, to architect and build the foundational trading infrastructure for a major ETF initiative.

You will own end-to-end delivery, operate across research and production, and shape strategy while advancing high-performance, low-latency systems within a collaborative, ownership-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a STEM discipline (CS, Physics, Math, or Engineering) with 5–10 years of software architecture experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in C++ required; Java or cloud-native tooling not considered.
• Proven track record in architecting and building high-performance trading systems and data infrastructure from scratch.
• Strong low-level system design skills, including memory management, concurrency, and performance optimization.
• Ability to operate in fast-paced environments with rapid testing-to-production cycles.
• Willingness to influence strategy decisions beyond pure engineering.
