Job summary

Goldman Sachs in Dallas, TX seeks a Vice President of Software Engineering within The Core Engineering group. You'll drive the architecture of high-stakes financial platforms, partnering with risk, compliance, and reporting teams to deliver scalable data-driven solutions.

You will lead a global engineering effort focused on P&L, capital, and regulatory metrics, enabling real-time insights and compliant processes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
10+ years of Engineering Industry experience is preferred.
5+ years of development experience with Java and other programming languages.
Experience designing and architecting software systems.
Strong project and people management skills; ability to lead globally.
Excellent communication skills for both technical and business audiences.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain financial systems managing P&L, capital, balance sheet, liquidity, and regulatory obligations.
Define the vision for systems to support business strategies in a changing regulatory landscape.
Partner with other divisions and engineering teams to meet goals.
Understand business needs and develop data requirements and specifications for implementation.
Develop high-level and detailed technical designs, testing strategies, and implementation plans.
Implement and maintain best practices for software development and engineering processes.
