Job summary

Sompo Holdings, Inc. seeks a VP, Insurance Policy Platform Manager to own the Guidewire Policy Center platform, drive architecture and performance, and lead a global development team.

The role shapes policy submission workflows and commercial product delivery while ensuring high availability and scalable operations. You'll collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, implement security standards, automate deployments, and mentor onshore/offshore engineers to achieve strategic business

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
• 10+ years IT experience with 7+ years in Java-based enterprise development.
• 5+ years Guidewire Policy Center development as a Technical Lead.
• Strong knowledge of REST/SOAP APIs, OO design, and integration platforms.
• Experience with SQL Server or Postgres and enterprise tooling.
• Proven automation of builds, deployments, and production support.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the Guidewire Policy Center platform architecture, delivery, and performance.
• Direct a development team to design and deliver new Commercial Insurance products.
• Expand Guidewire adoption across geographies and ensure system stability.
• Define engineering standards for security, logging, and automation.
• Lead incident management and production support across multiple environments.
• Collaborate with PM, Biz Arch, Product, Ops, and Testing to scope and deliver projects.
