Job summary

Wiley seeks a Group Vice President and General Manager, Applied Research Intelligence, to lead a high-growth, enterprise-focused unit turning proprietary data and AI into scalable solutions. You will own full P&L, shape the commercial model, and build a cross-functional team spanning content, data, and platform delivery, engaging with pharma, biotech, engineering, and related sectors.

This role requires strategic leadership, partnerships, and a track record of transforming data-driven offerings

Qualifications

• Experience leading commercial or product organizations within scientific, patent/IP, or regulated R&D data ecosystems (e.g., pharma, biotech, patent analytics).
• Proven track record as a commercial GM with full P&L ownership in a data, AI, or tech business.
• Experience building, scaling, and commercializing complex data, AI, knowledge/database, or tech products for enterprise buyers.
• Deep enterprise go-to-market experience in corporate R&D markets such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, engineering, agriculture, or adjacent sectors.
• Strong commercial fluency in data product economics, including licensing models, subscription architectures, usage-based pricing, and API monetization.
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing commercial organizations through transformation.
• Track record of building strategic partnerships delivering near-term commercial returns.
• Commercial credibility to represent externally to buyers, partners, and boards.
• Builder's orientation: creating new markets, shaping teams, and scaling growth.
• MBA/PhD or equivalent advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own full P&L for the Applied Research Intelligence business and drive revenue growth.
• Define market strategy, pricing, and commercial playbook across product lines.
• Lead enterprise go-to-market across pharma AI, corporate R&D, and knowledge management.
• Develop partnerships and licensing models to extend platform reach and utilization.
• Provide market intelligence to guide product and data science initiatives.
