Job summary

Wiley in the United States is seeking a Director of Product for Applied Research Intelligence (ARI). You will lead outward-facing product strategy, partnering with R&D customers across pharma, biotech, life sciences, and materials sciences to translate scientific data into decision-grade intelligence.

Reporting to the VP of Product, this role owns partnerships and integration, shapes market positioning, and builds a scalable product function in a high-autonomy, high-visibility setting.

Qualifications

• First-hand experience working within corporate R&D in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life-sciences organizations, with a demonstrated product mindset.
• A track record of generating insight and intelligence from scientific literature and data across the R&D value chain (e.g., early research, clinical development, real-world evidence, medical affairs).
• 10+ years of progressive experience in senior product, data-science, or scientific-innovation leadership roles, including hands-on launch experience.
• Hands-on experience implementing GenAI and retrieval-based (RAG) solutions in a scientific or R&D context, with knowledge across knowledge graphs, agentic AI, and APIs/integrations.
• Deep understanding of R&D scientists and their buyers, with credibility to engage at senior/C-suite levels.

Responsibilities

• Operate as a senior product leader across ARI and AI & Data Analytics, guiding cross-functional teams.
• Serve as external interface for the product with customers and partners, and represent ARI at industry forums.
• Shape product direction, partnership strategy, and commercial positioning as ARI grows.
• Carry significant autonomy, with the opportunity to build and lead an expanding product function.
