Job summary

This senior leader collaborates with the CMO and cross-functional teams, overseeing governance, budgeting, and partnerships while ensuring scientific integrity and quality

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent) in life sciences with 20+ years of progressive experience in clinical research or development.
• At least 10 years of senior leadership experience overseeing global clinical programs.
• Proven track record leading programs from early development through regulatory approval and post-market lifecycle management.
• Deep understanding of global regulatory frameworks and clinical trial governance.
• Experience managing large, complex budgets and multi-regional teams.
• Ability to influence executive decision-making and represent the organization externally.
• Experience in regulated medical device environments and regulated clinical study environments.

Responsibilities

• Defines and executes the clinical development strategy across the portfolio, with accountability for multi-year outcomes.
• Exercises strategic judgment in high-stakes decisions under ambiguity, balancing trade-offs to optimize enterprise outcomes.
• Acts as a strategic partner with the CMO and peers to shape lifecycle plans and development strategies.
• Establishes and evolves the clinical development operating model, governance, and capabilities.
• Represents Clinical Development in executive forums, regulators, and external partnerships.
• Contributes to regulatory submissions alignment with global health authority expectations.
• Builds and develops a multi-layer Clinical Development leadership organization.
• Partners with executive leadership to define budgets, workforce planning, and resource allocation.
• Champions diversity and adoption of emerging technologies in clinical research.
• Leads through organizational change while maintaining trust and execution momentum.
