Job summary

WaterEquity LLC is seeking a VP of Business Development to lead fundraising and investor relations. Reporting to the CIRO, the role focuses on the Financial Institutions debt strategy and expanding into climate-resilient water projects.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in capital raising, a strong investor network, and thrives in a remote, fast-paced startup culture. Travel up to 20% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, finance, international development, or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant work in business development, fundraising, and/or investor relations.
• Familiarity with alternative investment products, including emerging markets private debt and/or evergreen funds, is preferred.
• Ability to communicate investment and impact strategies to diverse investors.
• Emerging investor network, especially in impact investing, is a plus.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.

Responsibilities

• Expand and execute fundraising for WaterEquity's Financial Institutions strategy from diverse investor types.
• Prepare collateral such as pitches, teasers, fund materials, and due diligence docs.
• Manage all sales cycle stages from targeting to closing.
• Assist with investor relations and high client service standards.
• Provide investor behavior insights to influence strategy and partnerships.
• Represent WaterEquity at industry conferences (GIIN, SOCAP, UN Climate Week).
• Collaborate with Water.org to raise awareness and opportunities.
• Keep investor records in Salesforce with timely updates.
• Participate in organization-wide meetings and activities.
