Job summary

Shake Shack is seeking a strategic VP, Financial Planning & Analysis to partner with the CFO and executive team in shaping growth, investments, and long-term value for shareholders. This role leads enterprise FP&A, long-range planning, unit economics, and cross-functional finance partnerships across the company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related quantitative field.
• 12+ years of progressive corporate finance experience with FP&A leadership at scale.
• 5+ years managing managers within a finance organization.
• Public company experience; support earnings, Board reporting, and SOX FP&A processes.
• Deep expertise in long-range planning, unit economics, and ROI analytics for capital‑intensive growth.
• Proven ability as a credible thought partner to senior executives and operating leaders.
• Direct experience with Workday, Workday Adaptive Planning, Tableau, and Snowflake.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% across Shake Shack offices and locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead FP&A: partner to CFO, own annual operating plan, quarterly forecasts, and multi-year plan.
• Partner with executive team to translate operational ambition into financial commitments.
• Drive analytics on price/mix/traffic, labor, food and paper costs, margins, and channel profitability; support margin expansion.
• Lead long-range and strategic planning, linking strategy, capital plan, P&L, and investor expectations.
• Support earnings narratives with Investor Relations; prepare board materials and decision-ready analyses.
• Build a best-in-class FP&A organization; mentor and develop finance talent; coverage planning.
• Upgrade planning systems and dashboards; promote unified financial language across the enterprise.
• Collaborate with Controllership, Treasury, Tax, and Investor Relations on outputs and disclosures.
