Job summary

SMBC Group seeks a highly experienced VP of Quality Engineering to lead back office testing across settlements, regulatory reporting, and post‑trade processes. You will define strategy, governance, and automation to ensure reliability, scalability, and compliance of complex systems.

The role requires deep Fixed Income product knowledge, hands‑on Python QA leadership, and collaboration with Technology, Risk, Compliance, and Operations in a regulated environment. Hybrid work model offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Quality Assurance/Engineering in Capital Markets Fixed Income trading
• Strong background in Fixed Income products and back office workflows
• Proven track record of large‑scale automation and QE governance

Responsibilities

• Define and execute QE strategy for Back Office apps (Swaps, Derivatives, Fixed Income)
• Partner with Technology, Operations, Risk & Compliance to align QA with regulation
• Build and manage QE team across manual, automated, and performance testing
• Establish QE governance with clear accountability and reporting
• Drive test automation, CI/CD, and smart validation practices
• Deliver executive dashboards for quality metrics and continuous improvement
