Job summary

hireneXus seeks a Vice President of Finance / Controller to unite corporate accounting, finance operations, and business units as the company scales. This leader will oversee payroll, AP, credit and collections, and operational accounting while partnering with BU finance to drive standardization, process improvement, and strong financial controls across multi-site, multi-state operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
• 12+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience, ideally within a multi-site, multi-entity, or decentralized organization.
• Strong operational accounting background with experience overseeing functions such as accounts payable, credit and collections, payroll, and general accounting.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with business unit and operational leadership and use financial information to influence business decisions.
• Experience driving process improvement, standardization, and scalability across multiple locations or business units.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial controls, close processes, and operational accounting.
• Experience leading through influence across decentralized finance teams and business units.
• Proven ability to bridge corporate finance/accounting with field or business unit operations.
• Experience within a private equity-backed or acquisitive organization strongly preferred.
• Track record of operating effectively in a growing organization where the focus is on continuous improvement and scalability rather than financial turnaround.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational accounting and finance activities across a complex, multi-site and multi-state organization.
• Provide leadership and oversight for credit and collections, payroll, accounts payable, and other shared finance and accounting functions.
• Partner with business unit finance leaders and controllers to drive consistency, accountability, and financial discipline across the organization.
• Serve as the bridge between corporate accounting and field/business unit finance teams, ensuring financial information flows effectively between the businesses and corporate headquarters.
• Evaluate existing accounting and finance processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, standardization, and controls.
• Lead initiatives to centralize and streamline appropriate accounting and finance activities while maintaining strong partnership with the individual business units.
• Engage directly with business leaders to understand operational performance, identify financial trends and opportunities, and translate financial information into actionable business insights.
• Drive adoption of enterprise-wide processes, policies, controls, and best practices across business units.
• Partner with the Controller and accounting organization to strengthen operational accounting processes, close activities, reporting accuracy, and financial controls.
• Lead change management across decentralized business units, gaining alignment from finance leaders and operators while implementing scalable processes.
• Support continued growth, including integration of new locations or businesses into the company’s finance and accounting infrastructure.
• Develop and mentor finance and accounting leaders while building greater consistency and connectivity across the broader organization.
