Job summary

Flagship Pioneering, Inc. seeks a VP of Finance for Flagship Labs to act as a strategic partner to a portfolio of early-stage platform companies. You will oversee day-to-day financial operations, month-end close, cash management, budgeting, forecasting, and technology oversight.

You will collaborate with platform leadership, PBU, and FP&A to build financial models, manage cash flows, and support Board governance. This role emphasizes strategic finance in a biotech startup ecosystem.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of financial and accounting experience in life sciences/biotech.
• MBA and/or CPA preferred; strong business acumen.
• Experience presenting to senior leaders and governance boards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with platform company leadership to develop long-term strategic plans and build detailed financial models.
• Partner with leadership teams to create value maps and identify unlocks for portfolio companies.
• Oversee cash flow planning aligned with financing needs and scientific milestones.
• Oversee annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range plans with FP&A.
• Prepare financial materials for Board meetings and governance activities.
• Oversee Venture Debt strategy, execution, and governance across Flagship Lab.
• Plan space allocation with Facilities to support headcount growth and capital needs.
• Drive high-impact projects and implement standardized processes across portfolio companies.
• Provide ad hoc financial reporting and strategic analysis as needed.
