Flagship Pioneering is seeking an experienced Finance leader to join as Director/Senior Director of FP&A. You will partner with portfolio companies, provide business insights, and lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.

This role shapes company performance and financial reporting for a fast-growing biotechnology startup ecosystem. You will collaborate with scientists and management, drive cross-functional initiatives, and support financing rounds.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of financial and accounting experience within Life sciences/biotechnology.
• BS/BA in accounting or finance; MBA/CPA preferred.
• Strong business acumen; ability to scrutinize assumptions and interpret strategy financially.
• Excellent project management and leadership skills with ability to drive deadlines.
• Strong presentation skills for senior leaders; able to communicate complex concepts clearly.
• Collaborative across cross-functional teams and external partners.
• Ability to meet deadlines while handling multiple deliverables.
• Flexible, personable team-player in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Act as a Finance Business Partner with management teams to understand financial impact of decisions.
• Manage cash flow, budgeting, forecasting and reporting for portfolio companies.
• Prepare and present to Board of Directors and Senior Management.
• Oversee financial planning and performance monitoring across portfolio companies.
• Identify risks and opportunities and implement corrective actions.
• Support financing processes including forecasts for Series A/B.
• Collaborate with Accounting on leases, contracts, and venture debt arrangements.
• Lead system implementations and process improvements for growth.
